Lives lost directly because of corruption in the Health Sector in Karnataka in the last 10 years touches 1.7 Million!
Health Department accounts directly for more than 50% of the total deaths of about 3 Million people in Karnataka during the last 10 year period
Money lost because of corruption in the last 10 years in the Health department is more than 8600 Crores!
Deaths per Re bribe in Health Sector is 10 times more than deaths per Re bribe in other Departments
Other Departments suck the money so much that by the time a poor man tries to save his impoverished body he has almost nothing to feed his body.
Even the little left money is not spared by the corrupt inhumane people in the Health Sector
It is not surprising that most corrupt IAS officers after retirement (or after taking voluntary retirement) are found working in health related sectors
These corrupt people know that those facing death are the easiest to fleece and more than 80% of life savings are taken away in the last few weeks a person lives.
BEWARE! Even retired High Court judges have not been spared
You can help save lives and money also

While everyone knows that mobile phones are the best device that is almost available every where, the new 3G mobile phone to transmit video as events are taking place anywhere is going to change the way Government Departments function
All the Departments should gear up to integrate information that would be available in real time for not only getting feedback in real terms, but also to give more efficient Services. With almost the power of a computer available quality of Service can be improved significantly in a short time and if a proper citizen network is developed, may things can be done without physically reaching a place

The entire exercise of of eradicating corruption in Health Department has a major impact of many lives lost because of corruption. Unlike in other fields, corruption in the health sector kills people immediately that too the very young and the poor.Corruption in other fields is more like murdering by slow poisoning that too administered over time by different people. No one feels that he has given a dose of poison because of indulging in corruption. But in the field of Health it is not difficult to link deaths with corruption
You reach out the poor by understanding that Corruption Kills and that too Corruption Kills the poor and in particular the children
You reach out the poor by acting against any type of Corruption, because each corruption plays a role in murdering innocent people
We can not bring in transparency without appreciating the fact that Corruption Kills
As most of the offices not only have computer but also Internet connectivity, it is not difficult to show files on the Internet
Further any staff can be trained to show files and the safety of file is also assured. All the software needed are available free. What is needed is only an open mind. Everyone knows that the corrupt not only have access to files but in fact they decide in most of the cases what should be written and what should not be written. Even files are taken to their houses. Breaking such a thing can happen only by showing files to all that too unlike the corrupt who tamper it is for showing the virtual copy of file to citizens in their houses. While corrupt pay money to officials personally, showing files to citizens saves money by exposing corruption. It also saves money to the citizens.
You have everything needed. What are you waiting for?
